BASF's 260,000-ton Nylon 66 Project Goes into Operation in France, Challenging Asian Market

BASF's new hexamethylenediamine (HMD) plant in Chalampe, France, has officially commenced production with an annual capacity of 260,000 tons, raising Europe's share of global Nylon 66 production capacity to 35%. Utilizing an integrated production process, the project targets high-end automotive and electronics markets, directly challenging China's dominant position in the polyamide 6 (PA6) sector.
